Folks, This is my first post, so forgive my basic questions. I will eventually get to my "what speaker is best question". But I have some space issues which will shape that question. I am wondering if it is heresy to place front LR speakers on their sides? This would give me more room to place a larger speaker in the furniture setup I'm working with. It is limited to a height of 12.5 inches. I haven't seen this question addressed before, perhaps for good reason. Am I all wet? |

Most speakers can be placed on their side with no ill effects. Make certain the tweeter stays at approximately ear level. Normally place the tweeters to the outside. |

FWIW, I second that, completely. |

Thank you for your responses. This will allow me to move up a notch in my choice of speakers. I suspected this was the case since I've done this with my stereo speakers for years, but I wasn't sure how this played out in the surround sound envirionment. Again, thanks and I will move to a more appropriate forum to discuss speaker choices. |
