Currently have a Pioneer VSX-1019AH-K reciever, Orb audio speakers (setup 7.1) and will may buy Sony KDL-52XBR9 or KDL-52Z5100. The LG LH90 series and a couple of Samsungs are also in the running. I use Comcast HD cable and will buy a Blue-ray in near future.

From what I have read both the receiver and TVs have the ability to upconvert. Which will provide the best TV watching results (HD and nonHD broadcasts), running HDMI to reciver from cable box then to TV or just to TV with audio going to reciever.. It would be great if someone could provide a explanation on why to provide me some education. Thanks
