Greetings,

This problem suddenly started last Wednesday. I have Time Warner Cable - so I'm trying to figure out if this is a cable issue or something within my system.

The loss of sound has only occurred on the HD Channels. So far the non-HD channels are fine.

My local CBS affiliate - on the HD Channel only - the front speakers do not play audio, just the 2 rears.

During the NASCAR telecast on TNT on Sat. night, the race was fine, but when they went to interviews the sound from those interviews only played in the rear speakers.

During the Wimbledon final yesterday, the commercials played in the rear speakers, but the broadcast was fine.

This is driving me crazy, as everything was fine one day and the next the sound is off.

Before I call Time Warner again, i wanted to see if you guys could think of anything.

Thank you.

Not sure if it helps, but I have a Sony 42" LCD, Boston Acoustics 5.1, Yamaha A/V Receiver.

Bobby

Use your remote to make sure the CABLE BOX volume is high enough. Usually it will get to a point more than 3/4 up the scale that will say STEREO and you need to be at that point or higher.

Hope this helps

Bobby, are you using the cable box's coax digital audio output into the Yamaha? If yes, I would ask TWC for another cable box to try.

There are some complaints about TWC's service in your area.
