hello all....i am new to this and i don know anything about av receivers and amps!!! so pls help...my top priority is music (75%) and movies (25%) only. so i decided to buy a 7.1 av receiver. yamaha rx-v1900... the thing is..... i had heard that no one buys av receivers for music. is that true? i need a powerfull system that plays nice and loudly.. wat is the problem if i buy an av receiver for music??? if i play an mp3 song in it , will i b able to hear the music in all 8 speakers? (including sub)? or any special mp3???? pls help....... |

Greetings, The Yamaha receiver will work really well for your movies and should be quite pleasing to play MP3 music through. The only true difference between and amp and a receiver is an on-board radio tuner for the receiver which may or may not ever be used. |

If you're going to use mp3's as a source, then using an A/V receiver will do just fine. The Yamaha is not a bad unit at all. |
