Hello,

I am trying to pick a good receiver that will give me the best sound quality with Martin Logan Vantage speakers that are a part of my Home Theater system. It is an unusual combination and very few Hi-End stores have this kind of speakers paired with a receiver. I am choosing between Yamaha RX-Z7, Denon AVC-A1HD and may be something else... In that category every receiver will have an abundance of features. I want THE SOUND. That is my primary criteria. What would be your advice? Thank you!

The Denon AVC-A1HD is a pre-amplifier. You need to pair that with an amplifier. The 10-channel Denon POA-A1HD amplifier would match well with this pre-amp/processor.

That is if you have $15,000 available to spend on them.

In the class of the two products you mentioned a very good receiver paired with very best amp might be a way to go.

Hi Casey, thanks for the advice. I know it is a weird question, but my idea is that I would hook the Vantage up to a decent receiver and get a resonable sound in stereo mode. Eventually I will get a worthy separates and source to power these speakers, but for now my budget for a receiver and blue ray player is $4-4,5k. I am looking on E-bay where it might be less expensive . Can you recommend something in particular?

John, unfortunately that is way beyond my capacity. Is there anything you would recommend within $4k range? Thanks!
