Have had issues getting my New Omnisats and the sub to play without a hiss and Buzz. Spent hundreds on new cables and splitters, and better grounding add ons. Tweeter tech tells me I have too much ground and to go to Home Depot, buy a $.60 adapter that takes a three prong from the sub and turns it into two before the wall. all noises gone.
It worked but could this cause damage without the third ground prong being plugged to the wall??? Fixed the problem but don't want future bigger problems.. ??

Chances are you had a ground loop. Take out the ground... no more ground loop.

Do you have cable? That's probably the other ground and it's not referenced to your homes ground.

If you have cable, try one of these http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&User_ID=14088186&St=6126&St2=-55154136&St3=54986648&DS_ID=3&Product_ID=16262&DID=7.
