Hello, I am looking for some device that allows me to play my avi, divx, mpeg,etc files on my tv from my network (computer hard drive, external hard drive,etc). I would rather not hook up my laptop to the tv. Is there something like the appletv that does this? The appletv I think is not an option because you have to convert the files to mpeg4 which reduces the quality of the video when blown up.
I am willing to spend a few hundred to purchase something that allows for this type of set up.
I am not sure if this is relevant, but I have a sony blue ray disc player and a samsung hdtv.
