Hi,
Can anyone recommend a AV receiver that will work with a passive sub-woofer?
I have the Tannoy in-wall speakers and sub-woofer.

What has powered the sub up until now?

Personally I would buy a 5.1 or 7.1 receiver and the separate sub amp from Tannoy.

A sepereate sub amp is the best way to go but without the sub amp you would connect speaker wires from your receiver to the sub and from the sub to the front left and right speakers. With this set up tou have to use then cross over controls on the sub. This set up will also steal all the power that the front speakers would normally get from the receiver that is why it is suggested that you add an amp to the sub.
