Hi, I'm new here. I have had a Bose Lifestyle 38 since 2004 and have really enjoyed it. Recently, though, I powered it up and got an 801 and 802 error code on the main screen. The machine was now making a noise I had never heard before. It sounded like a hard drive noise. I called Bose and was told the error codes ARE HD issues. Send it back and they can fix it. However, a friend just told me that I could possibly clone the Bose HD with a new HD and start from there. I know if I send it back I will loose all my stored CD's. Could cloning be a solution? So far the unit still functions although there is much noise being generated. I'm sure it's just a matter of time before complete failure. Also, I know a lot of people don't like Bose so I don't really want to hear from you if all you're gonna do is tell me to buy something else. |

The question is, who is qualified to clone the hard drive? What chances are you willing to take? Just send it to Bose and have them fix it. |
