Hi all - I need some advice from you guys. I was wondering with wich sub i should go with for my system. the jbl sub12 12" or the jbl 10" balboa series, the room is aprox. 12' x 14' is relatively small, will the 12" be too over bearing and bassy? any advice will be appreciated

Does it have a level control on it? Any of them should be adjustable at the receiver and at the sub so you can set them to accomodate whatever level you are happy with.

You are better off having more than you need then less than you need.

yes they both have level controls but the 12" might be too much i know people who have a 12" and always keep it at the lowest level cause is too much

I think you have answered your own question then. You are right 12 inch is a pretty big speaker in a sub :-)

Jeff thanks for your help. I hooked both subs today and there's no comparison the 12" jbl blows the ten away in sound and bass clarity.
