Hi everyone,

I just couldn't figure out a basic setup issue with my home theater. Currently I have setup a DAV-DX250 Sony home theater system.

It has 5 speakers, 2 front, 2 surround and 1 center.

Now I recently got Bose VC-10 center speaker and what I wanted to know was if I can replace my current center speaker with the Bose one? I looked at the manual for the VC-10 and it showed a split wire(one with a + and other with a - symbol) input to the speaker which appears to be the same as I have in all my home theater speakers.

So if I was to replace my speakers with another one like from Bose as long as it is a split-wire input will it be okay or should be concerned what about the signals/output being sent from the Sony home theater being compatible only with Sony speakers??

Sorry if this is a novice question, I don't know a whole lot about audio!

http://www.weltonusa.com/MiscManuals/DAVDX250(Manual).pdf shows a link to the Sony DVD player manual and the Bose speaker manual showing the input is on this website http://www.bose.com/controller?event=VIEW_PRODUCT_PAGE_EVENT&product=vcs10_cente r_index

Many thanks in advance!

Yes you can use the Bose. You may find that the Bose requires more power to produce the same sound level as the old speaker. You may need to turn the other speakers down and the center up to balance the sound.
