I'm looking to set up a system in my apartment. However, I can not decide what type of system to get. I want a good set of speakers and a receiver that i can watch movies and stuff with, but the main purpose is for music. I cant decide if i should get bookshelf and surround speakers with a sub, or just two big floorstanders. I plan on having people over almost every weekend and I live in a college town so the louder the better. I also work at Best Buy and get a good discount on Klipsch. What should i do?

if you want the music loud and cut threw all the crowed noise Klipsh is a good choice, http://www.hometheatersound.com/equipment/klipsch_reference.htm

powered by an H/K 645 http://www.abesofmaine.com/item.do?item=HKAVR645&i=PRICEGRABB to smooth it out when your with a very spankable sexy girl watching a 5.1 movie or music like steely dan Gaucho 5.1 or dark side of the moon

If you want loud then Klipsch is certainly a good option, especially if you're gonna get a discount on them.

I have a pair of Synergy F2's and I really like them. Just out of curiosity, how much would these run you in your neck of the woods?

Im not sure exactly how much i get off, probably somewhere around the area of 30%-35%. are the F2 floorstanders enough to handle the bass or would i need a sub? and what receiver do u have? also i have a question about receivers. If it is rated at say 85 watts per channel for a 7.1 if i put it in surround mode does it boost the watts or would it still remain just 85 watts

The F2s push out a respectable amount of bass. I'd say it all depends how big of a room you'll be listening to them in. In an apartment I'd suspect they'd be more than enough.

I'm driving them with a NAD 2150 (50 watts / channel - MORE than enough power).

ok thanks guys. what do u think of this:
Receiver: http://www.harmankardon.com/product_detail.aspx?Region=USA&Country=US&Language=E NG&cat=REC&prod=AVR%20247&sType=C

Floorstanders: https://www.klipsch.com/products/details/rf-62.aspx

Center Channel: https://www.klipsch.com/products/details/rc-52.aspx

i think i should get a center channel because i know those are good for movies. but im new at this and if u guys think i could save some cash if i dont need one let me know.

thanks in advance

The RF's beat the F2's hands down.

If you're serious about watching movies then the center is a good idea. It's a good idea to buy one that matches your fronts.
