Hello this is my meager but growing setup.
-Nad T751 reciever
-Klipsch Quintet front, center, and rear sats.
-Sony sub slightly modified (go figure a sony sub)
-Sony 36" WEGA
-Sony DVD player

I can hear a hum in all of the speakers that are active for a particular mode that is barely audible at low levels but increases as volume increases and at 0dB it is a very audible HMMMMMMMMM. There is no ground pin on my receiver but I did try grounding it. It makes the noise when there are no other components plugged in to power except speakers (powered sub unplugged). I have everything plugged into a hospital grade power strip that shows that there is no fault in the wiring of the electrical outlet. It sounds to me like I need to get it repaired. Anyone else have any suggestions to try before I take it in? Should I just live with the hum. when I'm watching movies I can't really hear it unless I pause the movie.

You could try disconnecting the sub and then one speaker at a time to see if it’s a simple problem, hoping the hum will stop some where.
