I have a genesis media labs receiver. all the speakers are hooked up in back correctly. but to hook up my dvd player there are 6 rca jacks in the back of the reciever. 1 jack for each of the surround sound speakers, and if one of those jacks is not being used then that corresponding speaker will not play. how can i hook that up if on the back of my dvd player you only have the 2 red and white output jacks.

What kind of DVD player do you have? It could be old enough that it won't support 6 speakers (at least not 6 different audio outputs; even if you hooked it up to all the speakers some of them would be playing the same noise).
