I am a newbie when it comes to audio. I am starting from scratch and don't own anything but a 42'' sony lcd. What do you guys suggest for a decent audio system for both movies/music for about $1000. My living room size is 30 x 13, so it's long and narrow. Would a 2.1 system be better than a 5.1 for that type of space? The 5.1/7.1 home theater in a box systems at the department stores are not that great and looking for better sound quality. Need advise. |

I have seen alot of good reviews on this system. Polk Audio RM6900 5.1 Channel Home Theater Speaker System, Titanium Finish a few of the reviews said the sub was a little weak. $549.00 - Wholesale Connection Electronics At that price I think your getting a pretty good value for a solid system. |

I researched around and found that the Harmon Kardon receiver w/ JBL speakers are a good match. What you guys think? Which receiver? I would prefer hdmi input/output so i can use this thing in the future. The speakers state 150W receiver recommended, 80W continuous/320W peak. What about Onkyo, Yamaha, or Denon. Price limit is like $300 to $400'ish. |
