I have a receiver (Pioneer VSX-515) that's 100w per channel and a 150W sub (Yamaha SW215), so does that mean that I'll never get the maximum out of the sub because the receiver can only supply it with 100W? Or when the receiver sends a signal to the sub does the sub power its own sound with its own amplifier?

The sub is self powered and has an amplifier built into it.
