I have Logitech Z-5500 that I use for home-theatre.
My problem is the rear speakers are quite softer than the front speakers. In a real HT setup, aren't they supposed to be equally loud ?

Depends on the material source and the way the set up is calibrated. But it is not generally as loud as the front, as the rears are used mostly for ambient sounds.
