My brother picked up his own surround system so he gave me my Tannoy/outlaw system back. the only thing I am missing is the sub. I am looking for something semi inexpensive. so far i have looked online at best buy and saw the klipsch 10" but am not sure how it would sound with my other speakers. I have the Mercury M5 for fronts and M2 surrounds (I think). Any help on this would be fine.. I am open to all suggestions.. The only reason I was looking at BB is my wife has a card through them. Thanks in advance. I want to keep it under $400 if possible. |

A brand that is highly recommended on this forum is HSU subs. I hear that they make excellent product. All of their subs are fairly cheap because they are available direct from their website. I don't know how they'll sound with your system, but it is a good product. Stefan |

Armand: You cannot do better than Hsu for under $400. I recently replaced my major brand sub with a Hsu STF-2, and there was no comparison--the Hsu was light years better and it costs less! It was incredibly easy to get it to blend with my speakers as it has a very fine built in amp. Here is the link for the Hsu Research subs: http://www.hsuresearch.com/ Check out the STF-2, as it is currently on sale for $319. You can try it out for 30 days and if you don't like it, just send it back. Now, if you really must buy from Best Buy, I will say I am not impressed with anything they offer (Klipsch and JBL are boomy and distortion filled to my ears). However, with a little luck, if you have a Best Buy with a Magnolia Hi-Fi, they have been offering the Martin Logan Dyanmo sub for $399 on a closeout, I believe. If you find one, that is a good sub and a good buy. |
