Hi, As you probably know, I just bought a Harman Kardon AVR 445 A/V Receiver. I'm now looking for new speakers and the following are available : Klipsch / Paradigm / Polk / Athena / Bose Again my room is 12X18 and I'll mainly use the system for Home theater (85%). What power range should i look for ? Thanks in advance ! Charles |

Unless you are enamored by the sound of Bose, I would take it out of the equation. Have you listened to any of these speakers? Klipsch, Polk and Athena play very well with HK. Paradigms are excellent speakers, I just do not prefer them paired with HK. What is your budget? I wouldn't worry too much about power range, the speakers you mentioned above can handle the HK. |

Hi, My budget would be around 1500$ - 2000$ CAN $ so between 1300 and 1700$ US. I was offered a Polk package (RM20). This is a 5.1 set so i could add a pair of speakers in front or as surround speakers to get my 7.1 I could also go with the Cinema CT 110 Paradigms and either add a pair of surrounds or upgrade the Center/Left/Right to Cinema 220 ? Or I could take a look at Klipsch or Athena to see what they offer in this price range. Charles |

Charles: Check for an Athena dealer near you--it is a Canadian company, so I have a hard time believeing that you can't find a dealer. Athenas would be the best match followed closely by Klipsch. Here is the Athena Dealer locator page for your use: http://www.athenaspeakers.com/v2/dealers.php?ident=Dealer+Locator |
