Hey guys, New to the board. I'm looking to hook up a home theater system. I just bought a DLP Samsung HDTV. I'm getting an HD cable box with DVR. I also have a DVD player and a 4 yr old Kenwood receiver for my 5.1 surround. I'm trying to get the best sound out of my surround sound. Here's what I know has to be hoked up. HMDI cable from Cable box to HDTV HDMI cable from DVD player to HDTV? Now what about the receiver? I have an optical input on the receiver. Does that go to the DVD or TV? How do I involve the receiver to get true Dolby digital sound when playing both DVD and watching an HD channel on cable? Thanks for you help |

You need to connect the digital audio outputs of the cable box and the DVD into the receiver. |
