Greetings... I currently have a Rotel and Mirage 2 channel system, and am wanting to connect a surround processor to achieve multi channel sound without losing my 2 channel setup. I need 6 channel input for SACD and DVD-A, and also digital inputs for Sat TV. The Marantz dp870 looks interesting as a affordable alternative. It only has one sub out, and I would prefer two, as I have two subs(one in each main speaker. It would also be nice to have a unit that accepts an anolgue signal and puts out a 5 channel stereo or something similar just for fun while playing vinyl or the tuner. Does anyone know of something that will do the task, with decent sound, and I won't need a co-signer to get it? I do have a Yamaha DSP-E492. It works really well for SACD and DVD-A and DVD's, but no digital inputs for Sat TV. It has two sub outs which is a nice feature also. I am not interested in the latest and greatest surround formats available. 5.1 is perfect for me, as 2 channel is still my main listening format. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Cheers, Ray |
