I am buying my sister a home theater in a box and I am not sure what is good and what is bad. Can anyone help?

I can spend $100 maybe $125

Have you looked around your local stores? Your choices are going to be very narrow and they will pretty much be in the same category, so do not be too concerned about them being good or bad.
