I just pruchase a Samsung HT-p38 and was installing. I turned the unit on and all I hear is static.

This is what I tried:
1. Tried each speaker seperatly - same result.
2. Tried different sound modes - same result
3. Tried Radio, AUX 1 input - same result.
4. Tried different outlets - same result.

What I have determined:
1. It can not be the DVD player or speakers because I got the same result when trying differnt speakers or sound inputs..... Or can it be this? I do not know.
2. When turning the volume up, the static starts to go down and the real sound starts to go up. At high volumes, the volume is still not very loud but the static is 80-90% gone. Weird.

Any Ideas of what the problem could be or what I could try would be very helpful.

Thanks

Return the unit. If it is not functioning the way you expected it to...it is not worth the aggravation. Static is not normal.
