from what i have read dolby digital is the default sound output siganl on dvds. So you always have to select dts mannally at start of each film using your dvd palyer remote. Is there any way round this (ie the a v reciever auto selects dts over dd) or is just a annoying fact!i have checked my av recievers mannaul and can't find a way around it! just thought i would ask. thanks |

The player will always select whatever is on audio track 1 on the DVD, unless you select another track. I've never seen a DVD with DTS as track 1. |

Agree with David. Those few DVDs with DTS usually have it as the second track and usually only in English. So you have to choose it with the DVD Menu (Setup or Languages menu) Personally, I like DTS very much and my Denon does a wonderful job with DTS audio tracks. I have a 6.1 speaker setup and I just sounds very rich and at time amazing using DTS:Neo 6 |
