Hey this is probably one of those refresher questions out there, me and my roommate Have gone over this for hours and cannot figure it out.

So here is it.

I get sound with the DVD player going (which is part of the "THEATRE SYSTEM"

No sound from "TV" i switched the SYSTEM to "TV" and still nothing even tried "AUX" for fun.

This is probably simple i GOOGLED for awhile and module boxes of some sorts came up and receivers came up also, but this isnt surround sound right? Just a 5.1 Home theatre system, can someone help me get going please?

Just bought a Phillips 37" LCD
Its got HDMI, SPDIF out, S/Video(2), AV1/AV2 that both have 6 plug ins each componet/composite audio/video. Plus side usb/svideo etc...
You know right? Pretty basic

Then i bought a 5.1 set up by Phillips "DVD HOME THEATRE SYSTEM"
Its got component.. s/video, 4 audio in 2red/2white, 2 line out, coax out, and of course speakers... hope i got them all.

Are there any audio connections going into the TV?
