I was recently given a Lecson AVR-950 by my future brother-in-law, as he wasn't using it. He didn't have the manual for it, but I fancied the challenge so I started to set it up. I'm using an optical cable to connect from my Panasonic DVD-RV32 to the Lecson, and I'm hearing 5.1 audio out. The trouble is the speakers are hissing the whole time, and all the sound is quite distorted (voices sounds like bad radio reception etc). I realise it's quite an old setup, but as its free I thought it was worth giving a go - but does anyone know why I might be having these audio problems? Or where I might find the manual for the AVR-950? Thanks in advance for your help!
