Hey all, great board. I've got a question. I (will) have a DVD player and a Digital Cable Box that both have HDMI outputs, paired with a HDTV with 2 HDMI inputs. The receiver does not have any HDMI inputs. Can I run the two HDMI outputs directly into the TV and run one optical (audio) cable from the TV to receiver? I'm hoping I can do this and just change inputs on the TV to switch between Cable & DVD, while not changing the receiver mode. Thanks.

NO. The optical out on the TV is not a pass through from the HDMI. The optical out on the TV is only for the internal HDTV tuner to out put to the receiver. You will need to run two digital plugs to the receiver one from each source.
