Is it best to put video from dvd and cable box to plasma tv and not put video into receiver? As far as audio is it better to go from dvd and cable to tv then tv out to receiver or receiver to tv? If audio goes to tv first, then tv can work alone without receiver but when the receiver is turned on will the prologic sound be as good. Thanks for any help.

From what I have been told is that there might be a signal loss when the video is routed through your receiver. However, this loss is so slight that it will not be noticed. I am sure good cables will help reduce any signal degradation. For the ease of switching video sources, I would recommend haveing your A/V receiver do what it was made for.

As far as audio is concerned, I think what you need to do is route the audio out from the DVD, and Cable box into the receiver. Your plasma should not be putting out audio, that is taken care of by your cable box & DVD player.

Hope this helps
