Hi there all. Basically, i am currently looking for an 'all in one' package (dvd player + speakers) so i can have my tv (and/or Sky), my PS2 and obviously my DVD player all playing true surround (by that i mean dolby digital). I understand that to get dolby digital (superior to dolby surround or pro logic II) i will have to use a digital optical cable. Would i have to use a digital optical cable for every separate thing? If so thats impossible as there isnt really any sub £500 all in one packages that do have 3 digital optical ins.....or am i missing the point here? |

No, you are not missing the point. You do need to be able to handle the separate digital audio outs from your sources.
All you need is an all-in-one unit that has one optical input. You can then get a TOSLink 3-way optical switcher.
