Hello, I just purchased a new Pioneer progressive scan dvd player, but when I switch from interface to progressive scan, the picture goes blank - I am pretty sure that my tv is progressive scan compatible - it is a Toshiba 57H94 - what can I do to fix this? |

Are you using component video cable. (red, green and blue just for video). |

I dont' believe I am using a component video cable - is that the cable where it is not just a single prong but multi-pronged? I connected the DVD player with the Pioneer receiver- I don't think it came with a component video cable - I hooked up the sound and video with the yellow and red cables I believe. What can I do to fix this? |

The only way you can use proggressive scan is with component video cables. Three cables are needed one red, blue, and green cable just for video. Also you will need audio cables RED and WHITE ( red for right, white for left) for a total of 5 wires. Component video cables ussually don't come with your DVD player. |
