Technics SA-DX830 = 80$ (i heard somethin about them having fans that only work when u CRANK the reciever, therefore, ur amp burns out.. dunno if its true)
or
[b]Sony STR-DE575 = 130$ [b]
both of them are used, hence the cheap prices
i have koss (i believe) 5.1 speakers and a powered sub.. just need a reciever..
plus... are Centrios speakers any good? i can get the 4018177 model (4 tower surround and a center) for 100 bucks.. what are centrios speakers like? better than my little tiny koss ones?

Fans are meant to cool down a receiver and a receiver usually heats up when it is cranked up...kinda messes up what you hear, huh?
I used to own Technics equipment (actually I still own 2 turntables and 2 tapedecks) and haven't had a bad experience with them, but I have had Sony's that crap out after 2 years. I like that vintage Technics...I think it sounds nice.
Can't tell you about Centrios...haven't heard them. |
