We're to begin, ok first off I have a sound card that has coaxial input/output and optical input/output along with 5.1 suround sound ports, the surround sound is connected so that's all good but I want more ;) I want to connect my dvd/stereo via the coaxial so I can get 5.1 on it and I want to connect my ps2 via the optical so I can do the same what are the chances, I think i'll need a good routing program to do this. I love this kinda stuff but as you being the person who also loves doing this kinda stuff i'm hoping you'll have the answer that I don't.

Cheers : )

You really don't need a program. What you need is a switch.

ahhh if you're able to elaborate or perhaps give me an idea of what type of switch I need then I look it up and everything might make more sense.
But cheers for replying with an answer.

So, you want to be able to connect all your peripherals into one input, correct?

An example...you want three sources of optical audio to one input...you want this:

There are plenty of solutions in that site so check it out.
