just purchased onkyo hts-760. how do i attach my speakers to speaker stands. the top of the stand is a flat board (i assume all stands are like this). do i drill a small wooden screws through this and into the bottom of my speaker? i feel rather ignorant. thanks for your help. larry.

don't drill :-(
Soem people use blue tack or some sort of double sided tape for added stability and some people just place the speakers on top of the stands.

I agree with Berny. Blue-Tak is very good. You don't need so much. A spot in each corner grips very well, or a thin strip along each edge. It settles in with the weight of the speaker. Also, you do no damage. It can be surprising how hard it is to pull the speaker away if it has been blue-tak'd on for a year or more.
