Hi I have a sony theater system in a box and the whole thing has just pack it in . Can I use the speakers only and a different receiver . I've been told you can't , but I thought you could cut the wires and stick them into the back ofthe receiver , they are 8ohm speaskers if it matters . If someone could reply it would be appreciated

Yes, you can use those speakers on a different speakers. However, "good enough" is totally dependent on the amount of money you are willing to spend on a new set of speakers. If you are not willing to spend more money os speakers, then what you have shoud be good enough.

You'll be fine with those speakers so go ahead and use it if you want.
