Hello there,

I have a 5.1 speaker set where the subwoofer has only analog inputs; ctr, sub, l, r, lr, r as RCA style plugs. My old dvd player had the same plugs so connection was straight forward.

However the DVD player has gone bye bye and a new replacement only has a optical output for 5.1 (or just stereo sound for analog) is there a low cost external unit (or computer sound card) that I can plug the optical IN from the DVD and get 6 RCA plus to be able to use my 5.1 speaker set?

Or is there such a cable that plugs into the digital optical out on one end and OUT the other end the 5.1 RCA plugs for analog input for my speaker setup?

Many thanks in advance!
