We are finishing a basement and want an audio system to go with our new 50 inch plasma tv that we will hang on the main wall. We will use this TV for lots of sports ie: College Football, Basket ball etc, general TV and DVDs. It is not a huge basement. It is done in an L shape with the main area being where the TV is and (11 feet from the main couch to TV and approx 12 feet wide –it is open so not a closed room of that space. The other area is a bar and the farthest back part of the Bar to the TV is approx 20 feet or so. We are not experts and don’t expect it to be perfect but we want something that can sound very good whether listening to music, television, dvds or sports etc. We have a budget of 2500 and everything is wired for (Wife insisted-compormise) In wall front speakers and Center speaker, ceiling rear speakers and then two ceiling speakers in the bar area. We will need a Receiver , DVD, Subwoofer etc. to go with the speakers. Can you make some recommendations on the best way to spend $2500 .00? Thanks

This is what I would buy Outlaw Audio Model 1070 receiver http://207.57.8.206/products/970.html You can check out Athena Technologies as far as in-wall and in-ceiling speakers but I just do not like any speakers in-wall or in-anything. Too much of a compromise, it will sound okay to me but I don't believe it is any good, no matter how good the speakers may be. http://www.athenaspeakers.com/model-AS-IW6.htm The most I will do for anything close to the in-wall concept would be these http://www.axiomaudio.com/wallspeakers.html but it will bust your budget. Look into the HSU line of subwoofers. For the DVD player look at the Pioneer line, but there are others that are just as good. |
