I have recently purchesed a Durabrand home theater system (which is hooked up to my sony TV)and have used it several times when watching DVD's or hooking up my MP3 player to it and playing it through.I was wondering being a home theater beginner if you would say IS IT POSSIBLE TO PLAY THE SOUND ON TV THROUGH MY HOME THEATER SYSTEM SPEAKERS.

Thank You for your time.

disconnect the the audio cables running from your cable box to the TV from the TV's end, and plug them into your receiver, then select the appropriate input.
