i recently got given a yamaha home theater amplifier(with no speakers)not sure of the make.now can i use speakers in the stands im making now which are(2 pioneer 6inch speakers in each stand)[x2]
and (2 pioneer 12 woofers)??im only asking because i went into a few stores today and saw each sub with controls on them.also is using fibreglass to make the speaker enclosures a good idea or am i better off using mdf??thanx in advance.

just found the book, name of amp is yamaha rx-v457
av reciever!and just of now its only 1 pioneer 12inch woofer one has just been destroyed.if i cannot use my stated setup can anyone recommend any speaker setup!note that i live in australia.
