Hi. I just upgraded the wiring for my Panasonic home theater system with Monster THX 16awg speaker wires. Within a few minutes of playing my XBox (optical connection), the sound unexpectedly shut off... no warnings, crackling, error codes, etc. If i turn the receiver off and back on again, everything is fine but then sound cuts off after a few more min. I've triple checked all connections (+/-, signal direction, wires touching, etc.) and haven't found anything wrong. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Signal direction??? Explain this signal direction!

Does the sound just cut off or does the receiver go into protect mode?

Thought maybe this will help others out... I've noticed others below have the same problem as I had. When installing wires, I used Monster connectors (braided type) on the wire tips.. seems that was the problem. I removed the connectors and just connected the bare wires, everything is fine now.
