We just moved into our new home, last week and I have the HT set up in the family. The room is fairly open with approximately 30 ft ceilings and is surrounded by an open staircase on two sides, behind the family is the kitchen/nook area. The room is approximately 18 ft wide and about 13 ft deep (actually deeper if you include the kitchen behind it). My set up consist of Rotel RSP 1066 Preamp, Rotel RMB 1075 AMP, Paradigm cc-370 Center, Velodyne CHT 12 Sub, and Paradigm Monitor 9v.4 Fronts and Monitor 9v.3 Rears. I currently have the sub in the little cove the tv is suppose to be but its too small to hold my current tv. The room is tiled with 18x18 in tile and we are planning on placing a large rug in the middle of the room. My question is should I use the spikes that come with the Monitor 9s? Also how does tile affect the sound that is generated from the speakers and the sub?
