I've recently moved into my new home, and it has been prewired for surround sound. 2 speakers up front with TV about 8' high, and 2 speakers by the back couch 8' high.

I have the equipment, and the brackets. My question is how to get the wires in the wall to the right slot on the Receiver? I was told to hook up all the speakers, and then rub a live battery on the speaker wires to hear a crackling sound. At that point knowing which speaker is which...I've tried that, and didn't get anything...HELP!?

THANKS!

Hook one speaker up, turn on the audio then label it. Continue untill you get which is which.

You should have Front and Rear R & L on the back of the receiver.
