I've got a Durabrand HT-400 system. I feel like I have it hooked-up correctly but I don't hear anything coming out of the speakers-no static-nothing. Is the whole system shot or do I just have it connected wrong?

Just disconnect everything and start over. You probably did not connect something so as you take everything apart you will find your error.
