I just bought a 42" phillips plasma HDTV that does not have any digital optical audio outputs. it has one digital coax audio output. i also bought an onkyo home theater in a box, with surround sound, that has one digital coax audio input and 3 digital optical audio inputs. i also have a panasonic DVD player with a digital coax audio output.

i haven't gotten my set tox satellite box yet from direct TV, but am anticipating a problem.

i'd like to have both my plasma TV and my DVD hooked into my onkyo receiver, so that all components go through my surround sound system. (i'd also like to have the satellite go directly to the TV too, just in case i don't want to use my surround sound system all the time for audio). however, both my plasma and my DVD have only digital coax outputs, and my onkyo only has one digital coax input.

how can i have both hooked up to my surround sound without going out to buy a new DVD player with an optical audio output?

jim
