My plasma is currently hooked up to the Scientific Atlanta 4200 HD box with component cables. All is well,However I noticed an HDMI jack on the box so I purchased a HDMI cable and set the plasma display for this hook up to work.I then tried to set the 4200 HD box to connect through HDMI and it would not work.I called Cablevision (Brooklyn N.Y.(and they said that they currently don't have the HDMI jack active, and it won't be active for about a year or so.Has anyone heard of this or have any info on this subject? Spent $100. on a cable I cant use because of this....

I have cablevision out of Oakland NJ,and ran into a similar scenario-----the HDMI output on back of box (all boxes) is only avtive on the DVR boxes---not the regular hi-def boxes----will be available on all in about a year---your options would be either retun the cable, or upgrade to DVR box, for like 10$/more a month
