I'm trying to hook up my 27" tv to a surround sound system. I have a Sony reciever, and all of the speakers. I get radio but nothing from the tv. What am I doing wrong or what do I need to get tv sound?

If you truly want audio from TV to surround receiver(compared to sound from cable box, satellite, dvd, etc)then you need to connect audio output(s) on the TV (stereo RCA, SPDIF RCA, or opto TOSLink)to corresponding input(s)on the receiver. Explore audio setup menus on TV to ensure the output you connected is enabled, and make sure the proper input is selected on the receiver. |
