I'm turning a 60'x30' barn-like structure on our property into a home theater area, and I have no concept as to how "powerful" the equipment would need to be to fill the space -- how strong of a projector and speakers I'll need.  I'm not ready to spend +30K altogether, but obviously feel that one of those "out of the box" systems is not going to cut it.  Any advice that you have on where I could look to research this would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Some questions...

How big do you want the screen to be? What is your bugdet? Is this setup just for HT or music also? Are you considering seating, cabling, decorations, etc. within your budget?

The good news is that there are a lot of good options at different budget levels.

I will recommend that you work on the room lay-out design first (drawing). This will save you a lot of time and avoid the trying and error (like what happened to me).
