have a samsung DVD player and recently i got myself a creative inspire 5.1 dolby digital speaker system with a view to connecting them to my DVD player aiming towards a home theater setup. I am facing a problem with hooking it up to my DVD as the connectors for audio input are stereo jacks and the panel at he back of my DVD supports only RCA type connectors. There is also a coaxial output at the back and on searching exhaustively over the internet, i have found out that the coaxial output should be connected to a dolby digital decoder and then on to the speakery system. On inquiring about a creative DTS 100 decoder, i was a bit shaken by its prohibitive price at 11K. Can anyone help me with this as in can i connect the 5.1 Inspire to my DVD without the decoder in between. Also please let me know of other dolby digital decoders that come for a tad less in terms of price than what creative has to offer.
