I have a sony 5 disk dvd changer that is hooked up through a digital coax to my sony str-de485 receiver. The dvd player LED on the front shows that the movie is playing in Dolby Digital like i selected, but the receiver ALWAYS shows that it is decoding pro logic only. Am I missing some kind of step here?

The receiver is showing the right input source (coax), but it says it will determine the type of signal and the light should change. This never happens! It always shows pro logic no matter if the dvd is DD or not. Please help hehe.
I can give anymore info as needed.

Dolby pro logic is only one format for digital signal as is DDII, and DDIIx. Maybe you're misreading your display light on your DVD player.

Be sure to go into the DVD player setup, and activate 5.1 because your player has yet to deliver the signal or your receiver would have detected it.
