I have a dvd called "the ultamite DVD" in which almost any types a of sounds can be reproduced and such, anyways, when i go to play a DTS sample, i'm fine, where as when i try to play something with any method of dolby, nothing picks up I have the amp on Auto Digital which kicks in to play a DTS preview, but doesnt do anything with a DD.. both my AMP(JVC RX-6042) and DVD Player (AD-500W) both have the DTS and dolby digital logo on them, with slight differences DVD player: Dobly Digital, DTS/Digital Out AMP: Dts 96/24, Dolby Digital Pro Logic II i don't know if because it says "pro logic" that they're not compatible... any help appreciated |

Go into you DVD player setup menus and make sure you've activated DD. When DTS comes on, is it showing a 5 channel source is reaching the receiver on the display?? |

Well good, at least you know the DTS is working correctly. Now go back into your dvd setup menu(with no disc in the tray), and double check that DD is also activated. You need to do this manually for the first time. You'll see a choice between PCM or DD(some models vary the description), but select DD and it should work. |
