Ok here is the deal, the TV works great its brand new (manufactured in june 05) however when I hook up my surround no sound comes out of the surround speakers but the TV speakers play. Conversly if I hook DVD to reciever I can get the surround speakers to play but not the TV speakers.... any ideas, do I need a new reciever or DVD player?

You havent really given enough info for anyone to offer advice, so the only advice I can offer is for you to read your receiver manual, and read the directions for setup.
